Pigs In A Blanket

These Pigs in a Blanket are the party appetizers that your guests won’t be able to resist. They’re great for a tailgate or cocktail party. We topped these beauties with a Brazilian favorite, “Malagueta pepper” aioli, but they would be just as good with a plain yellow mustard. This is a quick and easy recipe that will be a hit time and time again.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of Garlic Asiago Cheese Bread, thawed to room temp
  • 18 – 20 mini sausages (any kind will do)
  • 1 T Vegetable oil
  • Malagueta Pepper Aioli (ingredients listed below)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 t shallots, minced
  • 1/2 t garlic, minced
  • 10 Malagueta peppers, minced
  • 5 oz mayonnaise

    Preheat oven to 400F.

    With oiled hands, knead each piece of Cheese Bread into a ball and roll into a hot dog shape. Depress the length of the Cheese Bread into a “hot dog” bun shape.

    Place the mini sausage in the middle and crimp the edges of the dough around it. Continue with the remaining bites and mini sausages.

    Place onto a lightly oiled cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes until golden.

Malagueta Pepper Aioli

    Put the mayonnaise in a bowl. Set aside. In a pan sauté shallots and garlic with the malagueta peppers. Add the lime juice. Let cook for 1 minute. Add the mixture to the mayonnaise and mix well.

    Serve the pigs in a blanket, hot, with the malagueta pepper aioli or your favorite topping. Enjoy!
