Once you try this Brazilian-style rice, you’ll never go back to plain steamed rice again!
• 2 Cups of long-grain rice
• 4 Cups of water
• 2 T of olive oil
• 1 Onion, peeled and chopped
• 2 Cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
• 1 t of salt
Rinse rice in a strainer until water runs clear; set aside.
Boil water; set aside.
Heat oil in large pan over medium heat, add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
Add rice, stir for 5 minutes. Pour in hot water and bring just to a boil. Immediately reduce temperature, cover, and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes so water can be absorbed.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with salt. Serve hot.
